The Minister of Agriculture in the government of St Kitts and Nevis travelled to the sister island of Nevis on March 30 to participate in the Nevis Agriculture Expo. The Minister of Agriculture, Duggins, shared some glimpses of the expo on his social media account. He shared his experience at the event and urged the people of St Kitts and Nevis to partake in the second and final day of the agriculture expo.
Minister Samal Duggins wrote on his social media account that the Nevis Agriculture Expo was a wonderful display of produce, seafood and products all produced by our agripreneurs. He further stated that he encourages all to venture to Nevis today (Friday, March 31) for the culmination of this amazing festival.
The Nevis Agriculture expo was a two-day event promoting the island’s agricultural produce. The government of St Kitts and Nevis is steadily working towards attaining food security. The Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley, also attended the agriculture expo in Nevis. The minister of Agriculture, Samal Duggins, is highly involved in engaging with the members of the agriculture sector in the government of St Kitts and Nevis.
Latoya Similarly, the Minister of Agriculture of Nevis, also attended the Nevis Agriculture Expo along with many of his colleagues. Minister Troy Liburd was accompanied by the special advisor to the Premier’s office, Latoya Biyanca Jones, at the event.
Latoya Shared her experience at the event on her social media account. She wrote that It was truly a wonderful day at the AgriExpo yesterday. I know today would be even better. I’m therefore encouraging everyone to attend and support our farmers, fishers, and vendors.
She further asserted that the government of Nevis has invested significantly in agriculture and I’m happy to see the gains of such investment. Food production is at its highest compared to prior years. We are truly on our way to food sovereignty.
