The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, recently met the Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley and the resident Ambassador of the Republic of China, Taiwan. The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis was a part of the meeting where the Taiwanese Ambassador handed the NIA a cheque for developing the Pinney’s Beach Sustainable Tourism Enhancement Project in Nevis.
The cheque amounted to US$250,000. The resident Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) presented the cheque to the federal government of St Kitts and Nevis. Dr Terrance Drew was present at the handover ceremony, which took place at the Embassy in Basseterre. The cheque was presented by the Resident Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to St Kitts and Nevis, Michael Chau-Horng Lin, to the Prime Minister of the country, Dr Terrance Drew.
The Republic of China (Taiwan) is one of St Kitts and Nevis’s most promising partners in the international community. They have made significant contributions towards the various developmental initiatives of St Kitts and Nevis. The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew and the Premier of Nevis both extended their deepest gratitude to the Republic of China (Taiwan) for forwarding their assistance for the various initiatives of St Kitts and Nevis.
Reports suggest that the handover ceremony for the US$250,000 cheque marks the second tranche of funds presented to the government of St Kitts and Nevis. The amount is earmarked for Pinney’s Beach Sustainable Tourism Enhancement Project. Dr Terrance Drew recieved the cheque for the development, which he will subsequently hand over to the Premier of Nevis.
The first instalment of the funding arrived at St Kitts and Nevis in October, which kickstarted the developmental project in Nevis. The Premier of Nevis also took to his social media to share the update on his social media. He expressed that he was extremely honoured to attend the meeting with the prime minister and the Ambassador of Taiwan to St Kitts and Nevis
