The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, who handles the responsibility for the Ministry of Health, recently took to his social media account to applaud the Ministry of Health for their commitment to providing good quality healthcare to the people of St Kitts and Nevis. The Minister shared that his government is working to uplift medicare in the industry.
The Prime Minister shared that they are aware of the issues in the healthcare industry. He informed the people that the hospitals did not have the microscope to perform specific types of eye surgeries, such as cataract surgeries. In line with this observation, Prime Minister shared that he has ordered the equipment to be brought to the Federation.
Dr Terrance Drew believes that the health and welfare of the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis are of critical importance—accordingly, the team at the health ministry of St Kitts and Nevis. The Ministry has recently acquired pieces of new equipment for the Ophthalmic Unit.
Dr Terrance Drew visited the unit at the JNF General Hospital. He shared the update regarding the new development in the healthcare sector. The Prime Minister conveyed that The Ophthalmic Unit at the Joseph N. France General Hospital is now outfitted with a new microscope and scanner needed for certain surgical procedures.
The Prime Minister shared that he is grateful to the team within the Ministry of Health for their dedication towards transforming healthcare within our Federation.
