The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, travelled to Grenada with some of the high-ranking security officials of St Kitts and Nevis to attend the Regional Security Systems (RSS) Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. The conference will allow the regional heads of state to discuss several critical measures to ensure national security.
During the meeting, Dr Drew and the other regional heads of state will discuss ways to enhance regional security in the Caribbean region. The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis attended the meeting with several critical members of the country’s security mechanism.
The team of Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew included the acting Permanent Secretary of the national security ministry, Cecile Hull, The commissioner of police, James Sutton and the Commander of St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF), Lieutenant Colonel J. Anthony Comrie.
The team of regional heads, including Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, discussed several ways of addressing critical issues of national security in the region, including illegal arms trade, drug trafficking, and intelligence gathering, while reasserting their commitment to strengthening collaborations with one another in the area.

The Chairman of the RSS Council of Ministers, Prime Minister of Grenada, and Minister of National Security, Home Affairs and Public Administration delivered opening remarks at the opening ceremony of the one day RSS Conference.
In his address, he applauded the RSS for the recognition that the security initiative is getting within the region and internationally. According to Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell, the team is deployed to Saint Lucia to assist with the restoraton of calm and order after a particular community reported increased instances of gun violence in the country.
