As CARICOM Member States will be observing November as energy month, Minister of Public Infrastructure, Energy, Utilities and Domestic Transport of St Kitts and Nevis, Konris Maynard in collaboration with Nevlec Nevis Electricity and SKELEC and other stake holders will be taking part in the observant.
Minister Konris Maynard announced the theme of the month as “Accelerating Innovation, Driving Electrification’’.
At its core this theme emphasis the pivotal role innovation plays in propelling St Kitts And Nevis landscape forward. This theme signifies the region’s commitment to adopt cutting edge technologies and novel solutions that will transform how they generate, distribute and consume energy.
Simultaneously, driving electrification underscores the dedication of the region to increasing the electrification of various sectors such as transportation, energy and household. The theme aligns with the region’s aspirations for electric mobility and seamless integration of electric vehicles into the everyday lives of the citizens.
St Kitts And Nevis is chatting a visionary course towards the sustainable future of the St Kittens. The theme aligns with the objective of the nation’s future. The twin island nation has long recognized the importance of transitioning to cleaner and more reliable sources of energy.
Geothermal energy is a promising prospect for ensuring that there is a steady flow of energy to supply In St Kitts, while solar and wind energy is crucial for integrating distributed energy systems across the federation.
