St Kitts and Nevis which is led by Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, and staff from the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela participated in a celebratory event of its 40th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations. The event took place on October 31, 2023.
Venezuela was the first country to establishing an embassy with a resident ambassador in St Kitts. “This early commitment to our friendship remains an example of Venezuela’s unwavering dedication to the continued nurturing of those bonds of friendship between our nations,” quoted from PM Drew

The wreath laying ceremony is cultural practice in many Latin American countries, including Venezuela, to lay wreaths on special occasions.
This wreath-laying ceremony was a meaningful event to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between St Kitts and Nevis and Venezuela and to pay tribute to both fallen and living National Heroes who have played significant roles in the history and development of the Federation. Homage was also paid to the only living National Hero, the Right Excellent and the Right Honourable Sir Kennedy A. Simmonds.
The wreaths were laid by Prime Minister of St Kitts Dr Drew and Charge Affaires Ad Hoc of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Marco Antonio Guzmán Adrian.
In PM Drew closing statement he extended his gratitude to the friendship between St Kitts And Nevis and Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela which they have managed to maintain for very long time.
