St Kitts and Nevis will be celebrating Easter in less than one week. Different communities all over the federation will organize unique events to celebrate the festival on Sunday, April 20.
The activities for Easter include kite flying and egg hunts expected to attract a large crowd of children, parents, youngsters and elders alike. The children will especially enjoy activities such as egg scavenger hunts, parties, kite flying and more
The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew invited the people of Constituency number 8. The Prime Minister serves as the Parliamentary representative for Constituency 8.
The class will teach the young children the art of making kites which they can later fly in the skies.
The classes will be held on April 14 and April 15, 2025 at the St Peter’s Community centre. PM Drew has extended an invitation to the people to come in large numbers and participate in the classes.
The classes will start at 4:00 PM on both the days. PM Drew highlighted that the classes will help keep community traditions alive. The people of the community have appreciated the labour party for organizing the classes.
Some people also suggested that after the kite making classes, they should have a kite flying competition in the community.
They took to social media to share their appreciation and flooded the announcement post shared by Dr Terrance Drew. The people of St Peters recalled that they also used to make their own kites when they were children. In this regard, kite making is a glorious tradition to carry forward.
The people of St Kitts and Nevis have shared that it is crucial for the government, and parliamentary representatives to encourage participation in these initiatives. It brings communities together. Classes and competitions teach youngsters to work together and create freely.
Easter is a Christian celebration, which marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a happy occasion and commemorated with feasts, competitions, scavenger hunts, egg collecting.
Kite flying is part of Good Friday festivities, which is scheduled for April 18 this year.
