Kim Collins Athletic Stadium relaunched with Exam Revenge Competition

The Kim Collins Athletic Stadium was relaunched for the use of the general public on Saturday in the presence of several officials. The members of the community witnessed the Exam Revenge Primary School Competition as a part of the official opening ceremony.

The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis also attended the opening ceremony for the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium. Several primary schools from across the island nation participated in the Exam Revenge Primary School Competition

St. Paul’s Primary School emerged as the winners of the football tournament. Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew extended his congratulations to the students who won the competition.

PM Drew also thanked Ambassador Kenneth Douglas and his team for their efforts in organising this inaugural Exam Revenge Primary School Competition. The Prime Minister said that the event is a proof of the administration’s commitment to the development of the youth of the country.

The event was hosted in collaboration with the Minister of Sports, Samal Duggins and his team as they have been working hard to prepare the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium for the relaunch. The officials have shared that the Stadium has been rehabilitated and reopened after several years of neglect.

The newly rehabilitated facility has been an internationally certified athletic facility that will serve our athletes and nation well.

The Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew thanked the St. Kitts and Nevis Amateur Athletic Association (SKNAAA), the Ministry of Education, and the Minister Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education for supporting this mandate. The officials have shared that all the organisations have played a crucial role in the reopening and relaunch of the Stadium.

After several years, the youngsters of St Kitts and Nevis can use the stadium for their sports practice. Community games, and overall community usage. Prime Minister Dr Drew said that his administration is dedicated to the empowerment of the youngsters of the country.

The Kim Collins Athletic Stadium is one of several initiatives that the Drew led administration has taken up for the benefit of the community.
