The first-ever Six Senses resort in the Caribbean has begun construction on Grenada and Prime Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, Minister of Tourism, Hon Lindsay Grant and Parliamentary Representative, Hon Shawn Richards are still keeping the people of this twin-island federation why the hotel which was to be located in Sandy Point was taken to the Spice Isle.

On March 4, 2018, Prime Minister Harris at a signing ceremony with pomp and in the presence of scores of nationals including college and high school students bused to the site, announced that Six Senses will begin construction of the five-star resort at La Vallee, St Kitts, in September 2018, providing more than 500 jobs to residents of Sandy Point, Fig Tree, La Valle and surrounding areas.

Nearly two years after, Dr Harris, Mr Grant and Mr Richards have not disclosed to the people of St Kitts and Nevis why the Six Senses Resort is not being constructed in St Kitts.

The new project in Grenada is the latest by the region’s hottest luxury hotel developer, Range Developments, which brought the celebrated Park Hyatt St Kitts to the South East Peninsula during the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) of then Prime Minister the Right Hon Dr Denzil L Douglas. Range Developments also brought the new Cabrits Resort Kempinski Dominica to that island.

The 100-room resort will be set on Grenada’s spectacular La Sagesse beach and is expected to be completed by November 2022.
