Permanent Secretaries, Directors and Heads of Departments in the Government of St Kitts and Nevis recently received training from experts through high-level Leadership and Management Programmes.
During the training sessions, the experts engaged the Directors and heads of departments in timely and meaningful training by participating in two High-Level Leadership and Management Programmes.
The training sessions benefitted the various entities who participated in the initiative. They got valuable insight into the various important topics related to their ministries and duties under their jurisdiction. The government of St Kitts and Nevis remains committed to developing the calibre of their government and other public service officials.
The programme for the Permanent Secretaries was held during the initial period, that is, Monday, 13 to Friday, 17 February, at the Koi Resort. Meanwhile, the Heads of Department completed the programme from Tuesday, 21 to Wednesday, 22 February. The training for the Heads of Departments was held at the CUNA Conference Room.
During the training initiative taken by the government of St Kitts and Nevis, the experts covered essential topics like Leadership Competencies in Today’s Public Service, Strategic Planning and Management in the Public Sector, Team Building and Teamwork in the Public Service and Ethics and Integrity in the Public Service.
All these topics are expected to provide in-depth and high-level knowledge that the officials would need for the successful execution of their duties in favour of public service. Under Dr Terrance Drew’s leadership, the government has arranged several similar training sessions for the various departments functioning in St Kitts and Nevis.
The government-owned information portal, St Kitts and Nevis Information Service, shared glimpses from these training exercises on social media. The training initiative that the government arranged for the directors, heads of departments and permanent secretaries proves their commitment to serving the people of St Kitts and Nevis to the best of their capabilities.
