The Former Governor General of St Kitts and Nevis, Sir Edmund Lawrence has passed away at the age of 93 years. The whole nation, led by Dr Terrance Drew is mourning the loss of a true statesman and inspiration to the hundreds of people of St Kitts and Nevis.
The former governor general was a man of substance and served the nation for a short but impactful duration of two years. His tenure as the Governor General of St Kitts and Nevis started on Midnight of January 1, 2013 and ended in 2015.
He served the nation with Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas (2013-2015) for two years before he retired from his position in May 2015. The highly respectable and accomplished national of St Kitts and Nevis has been honored by Queen Elizabeth the Second.
She honored him with several titles including Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE), Companion of the Star of Merit (CSM) and more. His service to the people of the island nation and its development has been acknowledged widely.

Dr Terrance Drew also took to his social media account to extend his deepest condolences to the people, family and friends who are grieving the loss of the statesman of St Kitts and Nevis.
Other leaders who paid their tributes to Sir Edmund Lawrence included the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Denzil Douglas and Deputy Prime Minister Dr Geoffrey Hanley. The officers of the St Christopher and Nevis Police Force and Defense Forces also extended their sincere condolences.
