Three weeks after battling bugs in the Basseterre Police Station on Cayon Street, law enforcement officers were faced with a sewage problem on the Lozack Road end of Police Headquarters last Friday.
Persons familiar with both situations disclosed that a bug infestation led to the closure of the Basseterre Police Station, forcing officers to serve the public from the Lozack Road area.
The bug infestation was found in the holding cells and the area was fumigated and repainted before operations returned to normal.
Last Friday morning, law enforcement officers closed the Lozack Road entrance to Police Headquarters as a result of a sewage overflow on the ground floor.
The closure affected operations of the Criminal Records Office and other offices.
Workmen were brought in to fix the problem and service to the public resumed at the Criminal Records Office on Monday of this week.
