Basseterre High School Stormers wins Ginseng Up Classic Championship with 22 medals

Basseterre High School Stormers won the Ginseng Up Classic Championship with a total of 22 medals – 10 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze. To celebrate this wonderful achievement, the team, with whole excitement, uplifted the trophy.

The Ginseng Up Classic Championship was held on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 at the Nevis Athletic Stadium. The tournament started at 11:30 am and had seven participating teams, competing for the final trophy.

The tournament was open for everyone with an admission fee of $25.00 XCD for adults, $15.00 XCD for high school students, $10.00 XCD for children (12 & below), and $40.00 XCD for inside parking (with driver).

Final Medal Count of The Ginseng Up Classic Championship 

Basseterre High School emerged as the winner of the tournament with 10 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals. Verchilds High School followed right behind at number two with 9 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals.

Charlestown Secondary School came third with 5 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals. The First runner-up of the Ginseng Up Classic Championship was Washington Archibald High School with 5 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals.

Gingerland Secondary School was the second runner-up with 4 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals, followed by Saddlers Secondary School coming in sixth place with 4 gold medals while Cayon High School came in last with only 1 bronze medal.

Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr Denzil Douglas, congratulated Basseterre High School upon winning the Ginseng Up Classic championship. He also lauded all the participants, athletes, coaches, and viewers who attended the event and supported the teams.
