A video of a fatal accident in Guyana has been doing rounds on the internet. According to police sources, one of the drivers in the accident was drunk and caused the death of the other. The accident took place on Saturday, June 17, 2023. The police sources have revealed that the accident took place on Friendship Railway Embankment East Coast Demerara.
The accident occurred at about 8:39 hours on the Friendship Railway Embankment in Guyana. According to police sources, the fatal accident involved a car, PAE 137. A 22-year-old male was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. Meanwhile, the vehicle involved in this significant accident was a motorcycle driven by 25-year-old Oliver Collins. The number of his vehicle remains unknown.
The motorcyclist was a resident of lot 70 Friendship, East Coast Demerara. The Police Force of Guyana started the investigation of the accident at the first report of the incident. The police force has been working diligently to get to the bottom of the significant incident. The police force claimed during these investigations that motorcar #PAE 137 was proceeding east on the northern driving lane, and the motorcycle was proceeding west on the northern driving lane.
The motorcar drove into the motorcycle’s path at the time of the accident. At this time, the two vehicles collided with one another. The accident caused the motorcyclist to fall onto the road surface. As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist sustained several Injuries on his body. The police officials picked up the motorcyclist. He was in an unconscious state. The police further escorted him to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment. The body is presently at Georgetown Public Hospital mortuary awaiting PME.
Meanwhile, the Guyana Police officials conducted a breathalyser test on the motorcar driver. They found that his alcohol level was 121% and 112%. He has been detained pending further investigations and charges.
