The Jamaica Police have busted a drug racket and seized 10.2 kg cocaine worth $13.3 million on Sunday and four persons were arrested in relation to the seizure.
As per information, the cocaine was recovered from a vessel at a container terminal in Kingston by the police officers on Sunday. The vessel in which cocaine smuggled arrived in Jamaica at the container terminal at around 3 am on Saturday from Columbia with cargo.
The police have claimed that a special team recovered eight packages of cocaine from the possession of a stevedore, who was offloading the containers along with others. The members of the team also arrested three more persons in connection with the seizure. Later, the Jamaica Customs Contraband Enforcement Team and local police were informed.
“After a further search of the vessel around 10 more packages of cocaine were found concealed under the spare anchor on the bow, which takes the count to 18 packages of cocaine.
The police have withheld the identities of the accused, while further investigation is under process.
