Coronavirus deaths in the Dominican Republic have increased by seven new deaths, and the total number of deaths has now come to 333.

The total number of confirmed cases of the COVID-19 disease in the Dominican Republic rose to 7,954 with 376 new cases, according to bulletin 45 of Public Health which was issued on Sunday, May 3.

Out of the total COVID-19 cases, 1,429 persons have been kept in hospital isolation, and 4,586 persons are now in in-home isolation.

Around 53.90% (4287) of the total confirmed cases are men, and the median age of the confirmed cases is 42 years.

One hundred twenty-five persons are now in the Intensive Care Unit; 43.20% are in the centre of Greater Santo Domingo, and 38.40% are in Santiago.

81.53% (6485) of the total cases are concentrated in Santo Domingo de Guzmán (24.29%), Santiago (10.94%), San Francisco de Macorís (7.74%), Santo Domingo Este (9.15%), La Vega (5.56%), Santo Domingo Oeste (6.64%), Santo Domingo Norte (4.50%), Moca (2.72%), San Cristóbal (2.64%), Bonao (2.48%), Puerto Plata (2.70%) and La Romana (2.28%).

In the past four weeks, around 23.55% of the total samples which were processed had tested positive for the virus.
