The Guyana Amazon Warriors have won their first match in the CPL 2022 after experiencing devastating losses in 2 out of 4 games. The two remaining matches had to be abandoned due to rain. This time, The Amazon Warriors defeated the Saint Lucia Kings by Six Wickets. Saint Lucia Kings have suffered the second back-to-back loss of the tournament.

At the start of the game, the Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and chose to field. The Saint Lucia Kings started strong in the game. In the Powerplay, the Kings were at 77 runs for no loss of wickets. Following this, with their disciplined delivery of balls, the Amazon Warriors restricted the kings to a score of 161 runs for a loss of 7 Wickets.

The star performer of the Kings, Johnson Charles, batted for nearly half the duration of the match (59 balls), and scored a total of 87 runs. Even after the losing wickets early in the game Guyana Amazon Warriors witnessed a 66-run partnership between Shimron Hetmyer and Heinrich Klassen.

Saint Lucia Kings scored 161 runs for a loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.

The best performing players in the team were Johnson Charles who managed to snag 87 runs, along with Faf du Plessis with 31 runs. They lost Guyana Amazon Warriors as Warriors chased the target of 162 in four wickers and in 18.2 overs.

The Amazon Warriors won this match of CPL 2022 Tournament by six wickets. The Amazon Warriors’ squad’s best players were Heirich Klassen with 61 runs, Shimron Hetmeyer with 32 runs, and Chadrapual Hemraj with 23 runs.
