Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson has announced that American Airlines is inproving the connectivity to St. Kitts and Nevis. The airline is bringing two daily non-stop flights between Miami and St. Kitts.

Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport will welcome two daily nonstop flights between Dec. 17 and April 5, 2027. The period of time between December and April is the peak winter tourism season.

The additional flights scheduled for these dates will improve footfall into the island nation significantly. The officials have also shared that the period coincides with the hosting of the annual St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival, Sugar Mas. The island sees an increased number of tourist arrivals during this period, making the increased airlift capacity crucial for better connectivity.

Experts involved within the tourism sector of the country have also opined that the expanded schedule adds more flexibility for travelers. The people can plan winter getaways to the twin-island destination with more ease. They also acknowledged that this step from the airline will boost airlift during one of the Caribbean’s busiest travel seasons.

Caribbean Journal has also addressed the additional frequency of flights coming into the island during the period. The tourism experts have seen that  St. Kitts continues to attract growing interest from travelers during the winter months.

Notably, St Kitts and Nevis emerges as the right choice for travellers seeking a blend of luxury resorts, uncrowded beaches and outdoor adventure. Tourism publications across the region have come to recognise that the island is becoming popular not only among regional travellers, but also international partners.

While visiting St Kitts, the travellers can spend the morning exploring Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, take the scenic railway around the island, relax on beaches like South Friars Bay and Cockleshell Beach, or head across the channel to Nevis for a day trip.

The island’s hotel portfolio also continues to stand out. The project is led by properties including the Park Hyatt St. Kitts, Christophe Harbour, the beachfront St. Kitts Marriott Beach Resort, and boutique favourites like Belle Mont Sanctuary Resort.
