Saint Lucia is hosting the 51st Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) from July 5 to July 8, 2026. The official dates for the multi day meeting have been announced by the CARICOM Secretariat based in Guyana.
The chairmanship of The Caribbean Community will be taken over by the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre on June 1, 2026. During the event, the Current Chairperson of the Caribbean Community, Dr Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis will be passing on the chairmanship to PM Pierre.
The meeting will be hosted in Castries, St. Lucia and will be attended by the leadership of the Caribbean. The current chairman, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew will handle over the mantle of the CARICOM to his successor.
The official agenda of the 51st Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has not been made public. However, the event is expected to see participation from a large number of regional leaders, Prime Ministers, Presidents, Heads of States.
The previous Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the (CARICOM) witnessed the highest turnout of leaders in over a decade. Building on the success of the previous meeting, the meeting in Saint Lucia is expected to see some very important discussions.
The current geopolitical condition of the world makes the event a very important gathering for the Caribbean Region. The Prime Ministers and Heads of States will be deliberating on the pressing matters of governance. The region is also facing price hikes in daily essentials and oil and petroleum due to escalating global tensions.
The Caribbean region is also to prepare for the Trans Atlantic Hurricane Season both of these will also be an important part of the discussions.
The other representatives of the CARICOM states will also be present at the event.
