Two cohorts of students from St Kitts and Nevis have reached Taiwan for pursue their higher education. Both the groups of students departed the federation over the extended weekend. The Ambassador of The Republic of China (Taiwan) to St Kitts and Nevis, Edward Tao bid farewell to both the groups at the Robert L Bradshaw International Airport.
The students were in turn received by the Resident Ambassador of St Kitts and Nevis to Taiwan, Donya L Francis. The embassy of St Kitts and Nevis in Taiwan has shared some images of the ambassador receiving the students at the airport.
The members of the Association of Saint Kitts and Nevis to Taiwan were also present at the airport to welcome the students. The embassy has asserted in their statement that the students are coming to their homes away from homes.
The students will be spending the next few years in Taiwan, completing their tertiary education in various universities across the island. The embassy has welcomed the students to Taiwan and urged them to work hard as they continue their education in their chosen fields.
The Republic of China Taiwan awarded scholarships to 37 students from across St Kitts and Nevis. This year, Taiwan has extended the scholarship to one of the highest number of students in St Kitts.
The gesture highlights the strength of the relationship between the federation and Taiwan. The latter has been providing students with the opportunity to pursue higher education overseas for several years.
Students from St Kitts and Nevis have been travelling to and studying in Taiwan for several years. The government of St Kitts and Nevis remains grateful to Taiwan for their constant support and partnership.
