Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew has signed the contract for the National Digital Health Information System (NDHIS). The contract has been signed in the effort to digitise the healthcare sector of the country. The officials have shared that the signing ceremony took place at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College on May 29.
The officials have shared that the contract falls in line with the government’s mandate to modernise healthcare. The officials have shared that the agreement has been signed between the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) and the St. Kitts & Nevis Robotics Association.
The two organisations will support the design, development, testing, and implementation of a digital system. This digital system will help in improving healthcare delivery across the Federation.
Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Dr. Terrance Drew, has lent his support to the project and praised the initiative. The Prime Minister called this initiative a transformative investment in healthcare and local innovation.
The Prime Minister also said that the government of St Kitts and Nevis has taken up rigorous processes to ensure the system meets international standards.
Founder of the St. Kitts National Robotics Association, Dr. Ricardo Neil has expressed his delight on seeing the implementation of the system. PAHO has applauded the locally developed system saying it was at par with international standards.
