The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew and the Senior Minister of Foreign Affairs, Denzil Douglas toured the Industrial Area at Green Valley, Cayon The two Ministers took the trip to assess progress on the factory which is under construction for the people of the island
The Minister has shared that they were hosted to the visit by long time investor in St Kitts and Nevis, Mahesh Nariani.. The businessman is constructing a factory in Cayon which will manufacture water tanks, gutters, and pipes. The officials have shared that the products which will be manufactured in the factory will be used in improving the water security mandate of the people of the island.
The officials have shared that during the visit, the two Ministers had the opportunity to speak with the stakeholders to get an idea on the progress of the work. The Prime Minister said that during this visit, himself and dr Douglas were accompanied by Stanley Jacobs, Director of SKIPA, Mr. Errol Douglas, Project Consultant and an officer from the Ministry of Trade.
The delegation had their own respective roles to play in ascertaining the progress of the construction of the factory.
The factory will be able to improve employment and bring better career opportunities for the people of the island. The Prime Minister has shared some images from the event on his social media. He said that the construction of the factory is a measure for powering progress in the country. The factory reduces the nation’s dependency on imports and helps make St Kitts and Nevis more reliant on their local produce.
The construction of the new facility will help in ensuring that the water security of the nation can be directly affected by the construction of this factory. The factory in Industrial Area at Green Valley is also proof of the growth of the industrial sector of the country.
