Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew received a courtesy call from the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC) St Kitts and Nevis has been working with partners and stakeholders in Nigeria to improve collaboration between the two regions.
The meeting between the Prime Minister, the members of the Federal Cabinet of St Kitts and Nevis and the delegation from NTAC touched on several issues of importance for the people of both communities. The delegation from Nigeria was led by Buba Yusuf Yakubu who serves as the director General for Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC.
He was accompanied by Zakari Usman, Director of Programmes, and Her Excellency Amb. Sarah Isong, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Nigeria in Havana. The delegation met wit the members of the cabinet and led conversations on the topics of healthcare, education and national development.
The meeting were done in the previous week and were extremely productive. The NTAC is a government backed agency of Nigeria and has been playing a very important role in assisting the developing countries. The organization sends highly trained professionals as volunteers to help in the development of the country.
The officials have shared that it is important for the people of the island nation. The officials have shared that the members of the organization has been helping the nation in working towards their goals in various sectors.
The organization has over the last few years sent over 2,500 experts in various specialised fields across Africa and the Caribbean. The cabinet has been working with the organization and collaboration in fields of health, education and national development.
The officials have shared that the meeting is a oart of the organization’s south south cooperation efforts. The developments discussed during the meeting also put the mandate of developing the mandate of the development of the human resource of the country. The partnership will also help in the deliverance of the Sustainable Island State Agenda.
