Nation Mourns Passing of Taiwan Scholarship Student Zidane Knight

Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Dr Geoffrey Hanley has extended his condolences on the passing of Zidane Soleil Knight. The Ministry of Education, led by Acting PM Dr Hanley shared a message to the parents of the deceased student, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Knight. 

The Ministry has shared that they have received the news of Zidane’s passing with profound sadness and grief. The authorities have shared that the deceased  student was one of the recipients of the Taiwan scholarship. She was pursuing higher education in Taiwan and was passionate about her future goals.

The further details about the cause of her death have not been disclosed by the authorities in Taiwan or St. Kitts and Nevis.  

The officials have shared that she was a promising young woman who was one of the 25 remarkable teens for the year 2018. Her promise in her academic journey was recognised by the Acting Prime Minister Dr Geoffrey Hanley and the Ministry of Education.

The message from the Ministry also highlighted that she was dedicated, passionate and committed to her education and future. They asserted that they share in the grief of the family and highlighted that no words can quantify the loss that they are faced with. 

The Ministry has expressed the hope that the family can find strength in the memories of Zidane Knight. They also highlighted that in life, Zidane touched several lives and made an impact that would have her be remembered among her peers. 

The family of the deceased youngster are residents of Nevis. The Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley also extended his condolences to the family grieving this insurmountable loss. 

He took to his social media highlighting that the whole island of Nevis is mourning alongside the family. To this end, the nation has also extended their  condolences to the family and friends of Zidane Soleil Knight, hoping for the family to find their strength in the face of this loss.
