The stakeholders of the MV Celebrity Ascent, the cruise ship which docked at the shores of St Kitts on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, extended Christmas cheer to children of St Kitts and Nevis.  The cruise ship stakeholders collaborated with the members of the St Kitts Tourism Authority to implement this initiative. 

The other partners who supported the sharing of the Christmas spirit with the children included, Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), Diamonds International and the Ministry of Tourism. The officials from all the involved parties  have official y kicked off the festive season with this initiative. 

The officials have shared that the members of the community were present at the handover of the gifts to the children. 

The handover of the Christmas gifts was done at the Government House with the adults and elders dressed up in the Christmas theme. The governor general of St Kitts and Nevis was also present at the handover ceremony. 

The Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) organized this gesture ass a part of the FCCA Christmas Gift Project. 

The officials have shared that this is a very important tradition in the annual calendar and has been accepted widely in the previous years. 

The gesture extended on the part of the MV Celebrity Ascent crew and the several other partners is proof of the growing importance of St Kitts in the international cruise sector. 

The initiative is part of the FCCA’s festive season and the gifts and support is extended to children across the Caribbean region. 

The images from the  handover and the response and reaction from the general public of the country is proof that the project is widely considered a success across St Kitts and Nevis. 

The officials have shared that the recipient children were delighted to have received gifts and wishes ahead of the festive season. The officials have shared that it is important for the tourism stakeholders to have a good relationship with their cruise partners.
