St Kitts and Nevis Citizenship Unit has raised a sum of $4,500 through a Silent Auction which was hosted as a part of the Investment Gateway Summit. The funds generated in the auction are expected to be used for the development and support of the Cotton Thomas Primary School.
The school has been selected to receive the funds in recognition of the organisation’s work in supporting differently abled students. The school has been providing a tailored learning environment for children with diverse needs.
The item which went into silent auction was an original work created live by acclaimed artist Lizca Bass. Notably, the painter created the work live for the first two days of the Investment Gateway Summit. The attendants of IGS 2026 watched the painting being created in real time before the auction started.
The officials have shared that the bids started during the Welcome cocktail of the Summit on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. The bidding remained live for the duration of the complete summit and saw bids from several attendants of the event.
On Friday, June 19, the auction was declared closed and Prime Developments placed the winning bid on the artwork. The proceeds from the auction were given to Marcia Vanlow-Beaton, representative of the Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School during the Gala after the bids ended.
Notably, the school was recognised for their work in supporting differently abled children and helping children with special needs get access to quality education. The donation was also significant due to the fact that St Kitts and Nevis celebrates June as Child Month. The month is dedicated to protecting and supporting children and investing their futures.
Notably, the school also received a generous donation of an additional $1,000 from a benefactor who narrowly missed out on the artwork. Collectively, the funds will help in providing the school with a tangible boost and improve the learning environment of the organisation. The donation will also improve the quality of resources available to the students of Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School.
The donation is a part of a deliberate decision made by the Citizenship by Investment Unit. They want to extend the benefits that the nation has generated by the staging of the Investment Gateway Summit to the people of the island nation.
The nation should be able to benefit from such high calibre summit even after the event itself has concluded
The auction was an opportunity for the attendants of IGS 2026 to connect with the destination they are investing in.
