The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources received a generous donation of animal feed from the East Caribbean Feeds ECGC. The Ministry, led by Minister Samal Duggins received the donation on Monday 22, June 2026.
The Ministry officials shared that the East Caribbean Feeds ECGC initiative supports the twin islands daily livestock and improves the regional food security. The Ministry also extended gratitude to the ECGC for their continuous collaboration with the federation to strengthen agricultural production across the St. Kitts and Nevis.
The Ministry of Agriculture, et al further mentioned that the donation will be used in a development programme, where they assist the federation livestock farmers in learning about the effective use of animal feed. They also stated that collaboration plays an important role in improving the agricultural sector including resilience and sustainability in the region.
Officials also stated that the partnership with the East Caribbean Feeds ECGC highlights the commitment of the government to enhance the federation agriculture sector. The ECGS has made donations of a similar scope in Nevis, with the Nevis Island Administration accepting the donation in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture.
69 Nevis based livestock farmers received 489 bags of animal feed from the ECGS on March 5, 2026. The donation covered the poultry production, pig, sheep goat and cattle farmers. Notably, the St Vincent and The Grenadines based East Caribbean Group of Company is one of the leading manufacturers of Animal feed in the Caribbean region.
The company supplies feed for sheep, pigs, poultry, and cattle across the region. They work in collaboration with governments, farmers and agricultural organization to strengthen the agricultural sector including food security and livestock production in the Caribbean region.
