Guyana: A 17-year-old resident of Kairuni Village, Stanton Garraway, who lives in Soesdyke, Guyana, lost his life in an accident which took place along the path of Linden/Soesdyke Highway.
Investigative authorities have asserted that the accident occurred at around 2:25 PM in the nearby area of Silver Hill.
The accident that occurred involved a motorbike, its number plate read: CL 4409, owned and driven by the deceased victim, Garraway and another car with plate number HC 5011, owned and operated by 50-year-old Augustine Klass of Kairuni Village, in Guyana.
Preliminary enquiries have revealed that the 17-year-old teenager was moving north along the western side of the Soesdyke-Linden highway in Guyana. The victim was driving his vehicle at a fast speed. The car driver was proceeding east along the southern side of the trail on the west side of the road.
Police authorities have stated that Klass (the 50-year old car driver) suddenly turned south on the highway and got in the biker’s way.
The front portion of the motorcycle crashed with the right side front door of the car. As a result of this crash, both the vehicles got damaged, and both the people driving their respective vehicles ended up with severe injuries.
The teenager fell on the side of the road, where he suffered severe injuries to his head and body, while the car driver ended up with wounds on his head.
Both these individuals were picked up by passers-by, who found them in semi-conscious conditions and were put in a passing motor vehicle which rushed the victims to the nearby Linden hospital. Both the victims were seen and checked by the doctor on duty.
The 17-year-old motorcyclist was declared dead upon arrival.
While Klass was checked by a doctor on duty and admitted as a patient suffering from severe head injuries. He was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he received further treatment from the doctor, and was admitted as a patient in the male surgical ward suffering from head injuries.
