The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, wished the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, warmly on his 72nd birthday.
Prime Minister Skerrit took to his official Facebook account to extend his wishes to his Indian counterpart. He stated, “On behalf of the People and Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, I extend warm wishes to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 72nd birthday.”
Prime Minister Modi celebrated his 72nd Birthday on September 17, 2022, and several political leaders from accross the world took to their different social media accounts to wish him on this occasion.
Dominica in the Caribbean region and India in Asia are both republics in the Commonwealth of Nations.
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, on the special occasion of his birthday, stated that he was humbled by the wishes he received.
The Indian Prime Minister took to Twitter to extend his gratitude for all the wishes that he received, “I am humbled by the affection received. I thank each and every individual who came forward and wished me on my birthday. These wishes give me the strength to work even harder. I praise those who have devoted this day to various community service initiatives. Their resolve is commendable.”
Several Indians also live in the Commonwealth of Dominica as it is not only a beautiful country but also safe and secure. According to the data from December 2016, around 50 individuals of Indian origin live in the Commonwealth of Dominica.
Further, there are also a few families of Indian nationals residing in the country. The Indian population living in Dominica is of Sindhi origin and is involved in business or work as professionals. They also work as faculty members at various universities.
India and Dominica have always shared good relations for several years. India has also helped the country financially at several times, including when Hurricane Ophelia hit Dominica in December 2011, during flash floods in December 2013 and Tropical Storm Erica on December 24 2013.
