The readers of the Travel and Leisure Magazine have ranked The Commonwealth of Dominica in eighth place in a survey ranking the twenty-five best islands to visit in the year 2022.
Travel+Leisure Magazine conducts a global survey every year. They ask their magazine readers to rate their top travel experiences worldwide and share their views and opinions regarding the best cities, cruise ships, islands, spas, airlines etc.
For the World’s Best survey, the readers of Travel+Leisure Magazine were asked to weigh in on their travel experiences, including their favourite island destination with a rating of excellent, above average, average, below average or poor.
Based on the World Best Survey, Travel+Leisure Magazine has constituted a list of 25 Islands famous worldwide for being the most visited and renowned tourist and vacation destinations.
Readers of the lifestyle magazine have rated the islands according to their activities, sights, beaches, natural attractions, food and overall value. After the readers had rated the islands on the criteria of Excellent, Above Average, Average, Below Average, and Poor, each island’s final scores were calculated as per the average scores of all categories.
The Commonwealth of Dominica was awarded 91 Points, and the magazine placed the country in the eighth position. Dominica has always managed to bring laurels to its people as a part of the Caribbean. The island is a dream destination for adventurers and travellers who want to explore the world’s unseen, unharmed, untouched beauties.
The world is fast running out of hidden gems when it comes to travel prospects, but there is no doubt in the fact that Dominica would always stand out when it comes to beautiful, mesmerizing beaches. Dominica is famously considered the “Nature Isle of the Caribbean” for its natural climate and environment. The island has lush rainforests and is home to many rare plants, animals, and bird species.
The list has ranked Ischia, Italy, at the top position. This island earned the top spot owing to its picturesque villages, thermal springs, and unspoiled beaches, including Le Fumarole and its geothermally heated sand. The island is known for its exotic sceneries, flowy hills and rocky shores. The island is especially renowned for its thermal spas and natural springs.
The magazine also ranked the island of Dominica at the top for being the best island in the Caribbean region. Dominica scored 91 from the magazine’s readers participating in the World’s Best Awards survey.
The report, which came along with the list, stated that Dominica has an undiscovered quality that can be rare in the region and the world.
The report further stated that added, “It is a dream for hikers, snorkelers, and all types of adventurers, but the island also presents pockets of over-the-top luxury, which also includes this year’s best-ranked resort hotel in the Caribbean region — Secret Bay, tucked within the rain forest along with tree-house-style villas, jaw-dropping nature views, as well as private plunge pools.”
