Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School is celebrating one of its former students, Mia, for her performance in the CXC/CSEC 2026 examinations. In the examinations she passed 8 out of the nine subjects she appeared for. Further, Mia achieved  grade ones in five subjects and grade twos in three subjects.

Mia was a student of this school before she entered the Washington Archibald High School. 

Mia is blind and her performance shows the young girl’s dedication towards building her future despite the challenges that life has dealt her.

The Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School celebrated the accomplishments of their former student on social media. They shared a post honoring the achievement of Mia, calling her an extraordinary young woman.
The social media post iterated that her journey is a powerful reminder that challenges do not have to define our limits.

Recalling the young woman’s journey in the school as a blind student, the management of Cotton Thomas Comprehensive said, “Her journey through school was not without its challenges. But with determination, perseverance, support, and an unwavering belief in what she could accomplish, she graduated from Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School to Washington Archibald High School.”

Her former school has applauded her academic success and expressed pride in the fact that Mia was an alumnus of the Cotton Thomas Comprehensive. The school also highlighted that they strongly value the support of the parents in the education and development of the students. To this end, the school has also appreciated Mia’s mother for the role that she has played in her daughter’s success. 

The school thanked her for supporting and encouraging the young girl, for advocating for her daughter and standing beside her throughout the journey. 

The school said (regarding Mia’s mother) “Her presence and commitment remind us of the powerful difference that a supportive parent can make in a child’s life.”

The people across the island also congratulated Mia for her success in the CXC/CSEC 2026 examination and appreciated her for the determination she showed throughout this journey.
