The 16th Annual Basseterre Future Leaders Summer Camp is scheduled to take place from Monday July 27 to 31, 2026 at the Gardens Stadium, Basseterre. The camp is organized by the Minister of Tourism, Marsha T. Henderson.
The theme of the camp is “Future Ready: Explore Lead Succeed” and it is a five day camp. The initiative has been designed for the children from 5 to 12 years. The camp is organised by the Central Basseterre Labour Branch and the organization has shared the information about the camp online.
The organization stated this year the camp is designed for building and enhancing the personnel behavior in the children through interactive activities including educational sessions. They further explained that by attending the camp it boosts the confidence of the people participating in the event and provides them new experiences and teaches them the importance of working in leadership roles.
Moreover, in the camp the children can participate in activities which are aimed towards advancing their skills in various interests. The organization also shared that on the last day of the camp there will be a closing march through Basseterre. The organization said, “Campers will enjoy activities focused on entrepreneurship, tourism, STEM, sports, creativity, teamwork and personal development, along with a proud closing march through Basseterre”.
Additionally, the registration for the camp has already started and interested individuals can register themselves by filling a google form. The form is available on the official page of the Central Basseterre Labour Branch on facebook. The organization also shared the link of a whatsapp group online for the parents and guardian for updates regarding the camp details.
The organization requested the interested individuals to register for the camp as few seats are left for the camp. They said, “Spaces are limited and registration is filling up, so parents and guardians are encouraged to secure their child”s place as soon as possible”.
Notably, last year camp was held on July 28 to August 1, 2025 at the McKnight Community Center, St. Kitts.
