The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew, extended heartfelt congratulations to the participants from the coastal community of Conaree who completed the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) safety training.
The PM Drew congratulated the participants of the community via his official Facebook Page on April 30, 2026, Thursday. He posted a small note on his social media handles and took the opportunity to appreciate the thought that went behind the project. He also appreciated the group of trainees who were involved in the safety training for their hard work and dedication to the training.
It should be noted that the group of trainees included Aldrick Hanley, Alphonse James, Carl Samuel, Dwight Huggins, George Samuel, Glenville Eddy, Kenville Carey, Lester Nisbett, Ricky Liburd, Steve Issac, Shane Rogers, and Joseph Harrigan.
According to Prime Minister Terrance Drew, this achievement is historic, as it marks the first time such training has been conducted at the community level. He emphasized that the program will further help the nation in moving forward to various meaningful actions like strengthening public health awareness, promoting environmental stewardship, and building resilience within communities.
He said, “The commitment these participants have shown to learning and applying top practices in water, sanitation, and hygiene sends a strong message that it’s something others can look up to.” According to him, this initiative not only uplifts Conare but also contributes to the broader national effort to improve standards and well-being across the Federation.
Dr. Drew praised every participant for their hard work and urged them to keep serving as ambassadors for safety and positive change. He believes their voices and actions will get more people involved in protecting the environment, keeping public health in check, and securing the nation’s future.
The Prime Minister concluded his note by reminding the citizens that progress begins at the community level. By investing in people, they are investing in the nation.
