St Kitts Port Zante welcomed four cruise ships to the island of St Kitts on Wednesday. The ships brought a total of 8,450 passengers to the island onboard.
The St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) has appreciated this busy cruise day for bringing tourism footfall into the island.
The officials have shared that the cruise ships which arrived on the shores of St Kitts included Brilliance of the Seas, MSC Virtuosa and Explora II with 809 passengers. The Royal Clipper was anchored in the Basseterre Roadstead.
The Brilliance of the Seas came into the island with 2,301 passengers. MSC Virtuosa sailed to the shores of St Kitts with a massive 5,150 passengers onboard. Finally, Explora II came into the island with 809 passengers. The Royal Clipper did not dock at the port but brought a total of 189 passengers to the island.
In total, the ships had 8,450 passengers which brought a “combined wave of global travel to St. Kitts.” SCASPA celebrated this busy cruise day with the words, “Every arrival reflects the power of connection and the strength of seamless operations.”
The passengers who came to the shore to experience the island had the opportunity to shop, relax on the beach and much more. The members of the crew were also able to bring their business to the small and medium sized businesses on the island. The busy cruise day helped keep the taxi drivers, tour operators, vendors, restaurateurs and other persons in the tourism industry busy.
Passengers had the opportunity to go to shop for locally-made craft, souvenirs, perfume and jewellery on Port Zante. On the other hand, the others people who came on the island went on organized and selected island tours and trails of St. Kitts via taxis and the St. Kitts Scenic Railway.
Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, Romney Manor and Batik, Black Rocks are also popular spots for the people to visit. sea and sun bathing at the popular beaches was also very popular activity.
People also walked around beautiful Basseterre stopping at places of interest including – The Berkley Memorial at the Circus, the St. George’s Anglican Church, the Immaculate Conception Co-Cathedral, Independence Square, the War Memorial and Palms Court.
