The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew met with international leaders and stakeholders during the CELAC-EU Summit which was hosted for two days in Colombia.Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas met with the stakeholders with the aim of improving international cooperation between St Kitts and Nevis and the rest of the world.
On November 8, the Prime Minister and his delegation, which consisted of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Douglas and Chairman of the Citizenship by Investment Unit of St Kitts and Nevis, Calvin St Juste. They met with Magnus Brunner, European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration.
The discussions which happened between the Prime Minister, his delegation and the European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration entailed ways of making cooperation between the two regions more strong. The EU has been dedicated to making sure thatthe transparency of the country’s Citizenship By Investment Programme is improved.
The officers also said that the security of the country’s CBI Programme was also a priority for the cooperation, enhancing transparency and security within the Citizenship by Investment framework was also extremely important.
The Prime Minister said that he is dedicated to making sure that they share a good relationship with the European Union. Later, the Prime Minister and his delegation met with the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Guillermo Jaramillo.
The aim of the meeting was to bring better healthcare facilities to the people of the island nation. The Prime Minister said that many nationals of St Kitts and Nevis have been getting health services from Colombia for a long time.
He has promised that they will continue to work with the authorities at Colombia to make the arrangement more formalized. Prime Minister Dr Drew said that they want to make sure some people of the community receive all the support from internation partners like Colombia.
