St Kitts and Nevis honored the lives who fought in the two greatest wars of the 20th century. The country organized a church service in honor of the nationals of St Kitts and Nevis who gave their lives on the frontlines in World War I (1914-1918) and World War II (1939-1945)
The Remembrance Day Church Service and Parade are an annual event for 2025 the church service was hosted on Sunday, November 9, Cenotaph in Fortlands the church service was attended by Governor-General of St. Kitts and Nevis Dame Marcella Liburd
The members of The Federal Cabinet of St Kitts and Nevis, members of the Parliaments and other senior government officials were also in attendance they laid wreath in honour of the lives that were lost. The nation expressed a sense of pride and solemnity for the nationals and said that their sacrifice is remembered and nearly a century later
People take inspiration from their forefathers and strive to serve their nation the same way that they had done in the past. The St. Kitts and Nevis government’s official information (SKNIS) shared some images from the 2025 Remembrance Day Service and Parade the members of the armed forces uniformed bodies including the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis police force also joined the government and its members at the event.
The Governor-General Dame Marcella Liburd presided over the event and interacted with all the members of the armed forced and the uniformed officers. All the various forces attended the event in their respective uniforms and displayed their flags honouring the martyrs and national heroes that came before them.
The members of the nurses and other medical staff associated with the various health organisations of St. Kitts and Nevis were also present to pay tribute to their forefathers.
The day started with a church service at Cenotaph in Fortlands. Then the armed forces conducted the parade showcasing the national resilience and capability. Then finally the day ended with wreath laying ceremony led by Governor-General Liburd and members of St. Kitts and Nevis administration
