The Ministry of Health has announced the commissioning ceremony for the five new Ambulances which have arrived in St Kitts and Nevis on Wednesday to the JNF General Hospital. The country’s primary healthcare organization will be using the five brand new state of the art vehicles to enhance their service delivery.
The organization has been waiting for the ambulances to arrive on the island for several months. After several delays, due to international supply chain problems, the country had been struggling with acute shortages of medically sound vehicles.
With the arrival of these vehicles the organization will be able to save more lives as these new ambulances are fitted with the emergency medical equipment which can serve most crucial in the improvement of the country’s healthcare system.
The Ministry of Health has confirmed that the commissioning ceremony will be hosted on October 27. The event will start at 9:00 AM in the morning and will be open to all the members of the community to attend.
The Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew who holds the Ministry of Health in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, will also be present at the event, in both his capacities. The Prime Minister, through his Ministry has been constantly making investments in the healthcare sector of the country.
The Ministry has been making sincere efforts to make sure that the emergency healthcare of the country can also be improved at every step. The addition of the EMT Specialists and procurement of ambulances, in addition to the trainings which have been given to the people of the island in this regard are all important steps which will prove to help the growth of the healthcare sector of the country.
The other members of the administration, including the Deputy Prime Minister, Geoffrey Hanley and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas are also expected to attend the commissioning ceremony.
