The Minister of Foreign Affairs, St Kitts and Nevis Dr Denzil Douglas met with his Nigerian counterpart for a bilateral meeting in Abuja. The meeting was hosted with the aim of strengthening the bilateral ties between the two regions.
The former Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis shared that they have been making efforts to improve the scope for collaboration between the two regions. The officials have shared that the members of the federation have been working towards this mandate and bringing the two nations closer.
Currently, the Minster of Foreign Affairs shared that it is important for the people of both the nations to work together. The same was advocated for by the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew.
Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, gave a warm welcome to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Abuja. The officials have shared the two nationals and counterparts discussed several issues of importance for the benefit of the administration.
The officials have shared that it is important for the two nations to work with each other on the international arena. Durinhg this meeting, Minister Denzil Douglas shared that the age of his country’s independence may be on the younger side, but it is shaping up to be a strong partner for international trade.
The former Prime Minister noted that the country is extremely committed to deepening cooperation in areas of shared interest. The bilateral ties between St kitts and Nevis and the Republic of Nigeria has seen significant progress in the last year with travel and trade opportunities across the region seeing an improved scope.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs said that they have opportunities to exchange technical support in energy, engineering, and cultural sectors. According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs , they are looking to collaborate with St Kitts and Nevis on improving their culinary prowess.
Nigerian cuisine is extremely popular in Africa and several parts of the world and the Minister of Foreign Affairs suggested that their collaboration will help bring St Kitts and Nevis at a more prominent place in the culinary market.
