Minister of Sports and Creative Economy, Samal Duggins provided an update on the construction of the Creative Arts Centre in St Kitts and Nevis. The official announcement was made last week. Minister Duggins said that the construction work will start in the second half of 2025.
The Minister of Creative Economy announced this during the April Edition of media programme- InFocus. He noted that the people of the country have been waiting for the construction of the center for the last two years.
The Minister said that the wait will soon be over as the plans are in its final stages and construction will begin very soon. The officials have shared that after the construction is finished, the Creative Arts Centre will give a platform to the artists of St Kitts and Nevis.
The Ministry of Creative Economy said that the stakeholders were actively involved in all the developments of the construction process. The Minister confirmed that the construction has been in the works for the last two years.
The Ministry of Creative Economy confirmed that the Creative Arts Center will be a multi-storied building. The structure will be constructed in the shape of a wave. Further, the building will be constructed at the Conaree-Half Moon.
The plans for the construction of the Creative Arts Centre have been under discussion since October 2023. The stakeholders from the Creative Sector attended a Creative Arts Centre Consultation & Mixer at the CUNA Conference Center in October 2023.
At the Consultation & Mixer, Roberitine Webbe, who serves as the Director of the Creative Economy confirmed that the suggestions of all the stakeholders will be acknowledged as they work on the plans for the construction of the center.
Dr Sirous Motevessel and Abbas Fahim, an engineer in Dubai are the developers for the construction of the center. Both the individuals acquired the passport of St Kitts and Nevis through the Citizenship by Investment Programme of the country.
The Minister of Creative Economy, Samal Duggins said that with the construction of the new Creative Arts Center, the future of the creative sector will be bright and promising.
