The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Marine Resources hosted the Annual Review and Planning Meeting 2025 at the CUNA Conference Centre Fortlands in St Kitts on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025. The meeting was held from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, reflecting the ministry’s 30 year journey and focused on strategies for sustainable agricultural development.
The annual meeting was held under the theme ‘Celebrating 30 Years: From Soil to Sea; The Journey to Sustainability.’ It was attended by several senior government officials, allied agencies representatives, farmers, and other agricultural experts in the agricultural sector.
The Annual Review and Planning Meeting 2025 featured an in-depth discussion on the progress and future direction of agriculture while offering a platform for agricultural investors to contribute to the development of strategic plans for the upcoming year.
This meeting showcased the government’s commitment in ensuring a collective and informed approach to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities, such as more employment for the citizens and residents of St Kitts and Nevis while also advancing the agriculture sector.

Representatives from the Ministry, government officials, and agricultural experts shared insightful presentations and highlighted the current state of agriculture while outlining future goals of the Ministry of Agriculture regarding the development of the agricultural sector.
Minister of Agriculture, Samal Duggins, delivered his views on the agricultural sector and ways to develop it while offering modern technologies and infrastructure to local farmers to increase local production and self-reliance, reducing dependence on food imports.
Various reports were made and shared by the Director of Agriculture YuShaner Jeffers, Director of Marine Resources and Chairperson of Cannabis Board, Jihan Willims-Knight.
