Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis –Prime Minister Terrance Drew has expressed grief over the sudden demise of Labour Party stalwart Cleon “Bougna” Edwards.
Cleon was a known political figure in St Kitts and Nevis. He served two ministries under the Terrance Drew’s administration. He was also renowned for being a dedicated supporter of the Labour Party.
The Prime Minister said that Cleon always kept the interest of the party and the nation over and above all else. His contribution to the party will always be remembered.
The Prime Minister said Cleon “Bougna” Edwards had earned the respect of his fellow members through his hard work.
“Cleon was more than just a party member; he was a dear friend,” Prime Minister Drew stated adding that he will continue to inspire the generations to come.
The Labour Party has also expressed grief over the demise of Cleon “Bougna” Edwards and extended sympathies to his family.
In a statement the Labour Party said that the void left behind by Cleon “Bougna” Edwards cannot be filled. He was a leader of great stature. The party also lauded his role in pushing for various reforms and undertaken various development projects in the nation.
