St. Kitts and Nevis: Charlestown Secondary School hosted an exhibit and auction of the creative works of the students of the school. The featured pieces were artworks from the past and present students of the institution.

The exhibition and auction event was sponsored by Nevis Multiline Services. It displayed a creativity and talent of the students and the celebration foster a sense of appreciation for the arts.

It is to be noted that this productive art exhibition was facilitated by Shavane Williams from English Department, Ashira Hanley, from Art Department and Alberto Hewlett from the department of Digital Media.

The CommsUnit Nevis took to their official social media handle (Facebook) to share the glimpses of the event.

“Language as Art…Awesome Exhibit & Auction of works by Past and Present students as well as Faculty at Charlestown Secondary School. Facilitated by Shavane Williams, English Dept, Ashira Hanley, Art Dept and Alberto Hewlett, Digital Media. This undertaking was sponsored by Nevis Multiline Service,” added CommsUnit Nevis.

The students were given an opportunity to showcase their creative arts, including paintings, poetry and crafts among others. The event is expected to bring potential outcomes and inspire more creativity in the future.

In addition, Charlestown Secondary School has recently celebrated its 74 years of Industry and Virtue. The foundation stone of the school was laid by Late Helen Bridgewater in 1950. Located in Stoney Groove at Nevis, the institution stood as a beacon of quality education, ethics, dedication and rooted in its outstanding faculty.

Since its inception, the school is being run on the principle of, “INDUSTRIA ET VIRTUTE.” The attendees of the event shared their experience through their comments on Facebook. Some of the comments read as,

A person named Lylie Williams quoted, “Best experience ever. Kayanna Daly was so amazingly written. Good luck students. Keep up the creative work.”

Similarly, another FB user, by the name of Malcolm Smith commented, “I was waiting for such experience. The teachers handled the individuals very well. And very good piece of art displayed there.”
