Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis: Samal Duggins, Minister of Creative Economies, Sports, Agriculture, Fisheries, Marine Resources, Entrepreneurship is all set to host Children’s Fun Day on Sunday 21st April 2024 at the Lamberts Court, courtesy of Constituency 4 Labour Branch.
The Minister has urged the parents to bring their little ones for exciting games and fun activities which is being conducted with a motive to engage today’s youth in outdoor activities. It will play a pivotal role in promoting the physical as well as mental health of the little ones by engaging them in such playful activities.
“Get ready for a blast at our Children’s Fun Day this Sunday, April 21st, at 2:00 pm at the Lamberts Court, courtesy of Constituency 4 Labour Branch. Bring your little ones for games, treats, and a fantastic time”, noted Minister Samal Duggins.
The little ones will be offered a plethora of experiences which include, food and drinks, games, musical chairs, lucky dip, sack race, balloon race, Mississippi, Hopscotch and many more.
Moreover, Samal Duggins as the Minister of Creative Economies is continuously making efforts in order to promote youth towards cultural activities. A recent example of it is hosting 4 day drum dynamics workshop by the Minister which was conducted in order to train 100 young drummers under the expert guidance of Roy Phipps.
While appreciating them, he added that these youth drummers were not just learning the art but were immersing themselves in the soulful sounds of Afro-Caribbean, African, and Latin beats.
“Their commitment to the craft was not just admirable; it was transformative, moulding them into well-rounded individuals with a profound appreciation for the arts,” mentioned Minister Samal Duggins.
He stated that as a Minister of Arts and Culture, it is his duty to ensure that these local traditions of Caribbean music endure and ignite creativity in the future generations to come.
Minister Samal Duggins has also ensured that he will continue to host such activities in the island nation in order to give them a platform to showcase their talents, abilities, skills and techniques. He has also promised to foster the local culture and traditions of the country by promoting creativity among the youth.
