The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, met with the President of the African Export-Import Bank, Professor Benedict Oramah. The Prime Minister and Minister of Finance indulged the AFREXIM President in further discussions regarding investment opportunities in St Kitts and Nevis on Monday, February 20, 2023. The country recently signed an agreement with the African Export-Import Bank during the 44th Conference of the CARICOM Heads of Government.
The delegation of the Prime Minister interacted with the representatives of the AFREXIM Bank regarding the signing of the MoU during the CARICOM Meeting. Following the signing ceremony, Prime Minister Drew extended an invitation to the representatives of the AFREXIM bank for further deliberation.

According to Dr Terrance Drew, This agreement signed between the government of St Kitts and Nevis and the AFREXIM Bank entails collaboration between the two institutions on initiatives to implement strategic projects in renewable energy such as a solar power plant, grid connectivity between St Kitts and Nevis, and smart metering among other energy-related initiatives.
Meanwhile, following the interaction with Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, The AFREXIM president and his delegation visited the Ministry of Finance Conference Room for wider discussions. The representatives of St Kitts and Nevis, in the form of Dr Drew and the entire Cabinet of the Government of St Kitts and Nevis and the delegation of AFREXIM engaged in fruitful discussions.
Dr Drew also shared the update on his social media regarding this meeting. He noted that this was a fruitful engagement. He also took the opportunity to express that they look forward to further productive collaborations with Afreximbank.
