Mark Brantley visits Alexandra Hospital, shares updates on facilities

Premier of Nevis and Leader of the ruling political party, Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM), Mark Brantley, extended his gratitude to the Republic of China (Taiwan) for their assistance in developing the island.

Premier Brantley extended his gratitude to Taiwan in his monthly press conference. He hosted the monthly press conference on October 6, 2022.

Additionally, Premier Brantley thanked Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew for his efforts in ensuring that the development funds promised by the Republic of China (Taiwan) reached the Nevis administration.

During the Press Conference, Premier Brantley informed that Nevis Island Administration (NIA) had pursued their assistance to fund a US$3.2million project, the final stages of the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park at Pinney’s Beach. Further, he confirmed that he had received the first instalment of funds from Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew on October 5, 2022.

Premier Brantley was in attendance at the handover ceremony, where the resident ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Micheal Lin, handed the cheque to Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew.

Prime Minister Drew then gave the cheque to the head of the Nevis Island Administration, Premier Brantley.

During his Press Conference, The Premier stated that he was most grateful for the help and support provided by the government of Taiwan and the Prime Minister’s office for their gesture towards Nevis.

According to Premier Brantley, the funds provided by ROC (Taiwan) would enable the project to commence quickly. According to Brantley, the project would transform Pinney’s Beach to give the support amenities for Nevis’ tourism product.

Premier Brantley, also the Minister of Tourism in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA), used the press conference opportunity to share an insight into the project.

According to Mark Brantley, the (funded) project is the Pinney’s Park project’s final stages. According to him, the Malcolm Guishard Park at Pinney’s has been a hit with all and sundry.
