Skyla Connor to represent St Kitts and Nevis at 2025 World Aquatics Championships

Thirteen-year-old Skyla Connor will represent St Kitts and Nevis at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships. She joins the team as one of the youngest national swimmers to compete on the world stage. The aquatic sports championship event is being held in Singapore.

Athletes will compete in various aquatic sports at the championship, with swimming events scheduled from July 26 to August 3, 2025. The 13 year old will be competing in two of the events at the international championship.

The events in which the youngster is representing St Kitts and Nevis are: 50-meter freestyle and the 50- meter breaststroke events. Both these events rank among the most explosive and competitive at this long course (LC) meet.

The St Kitts and Nevis Aquatics Federation announced her participation on Tuesday. The teen Athlete will be leaving for her events in the mid week and will be responsible for conducting herself with standard.

The young athlete has already represented the country on the international platform previously with her peers. In 2024, she was one of the first swimmers to represent St Kitts and Nevis at CARIFTA Aquatic events.

Thirteen-year-old swimmer is one of the youngest to represent St Kitts and Nevis internationally. Aquatics Federation President Eldon Thomas congratulated her and wished her the best.

He said that he is very proud of Skyla for representing the nation in Switzerland in what are some of the most challenging events of swimming.

The SKNFA President has called Skyla Connor an inspiration for the youngsters of the island nation. He also said that Conners competing at the international stage will give more visibility to St Kitts and Nevis.

She represented St Kitts and Nevis at the 38th CARIFTA Aquatic Championships in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. She will continue to represent her home nation in international events in the upcoming year.
