West Indies Women’s U19 team managed to secure third place in the Super 6 of the ICC U19 Women’s T-20 World Cup 2025,with a dominating 53 run victory over the host team, Malaysia on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
West Indies joined India and Sri Lanka in Super 6 in Group A, while Malaysia ended at the bottom of the group in the championship with three consecutive defeats, marking their exit from the tournament.
Moreover, Samara Ramnath, West Indies captain, became the third best in this tournament with her points, right behind Vaishnavi Sharma (India) and Maisie Maceira (Scotland).

Malaysia won the toss and opted to bowl first allowing West Indies to make only 112 runs in 20 overs at a loss of 7 wickets.
Assabi Callender held her team together by making 30 runs (42 balls), followed by Jahzara Claxton who made 19 runs (15 balls), and Abigail Bryce making 14 runs (19 balls).
Siti Nazwah and Nur Izzatul Syafiqa took 2 West Indies’ wickets each with Nur Dania Syuhada and Fatin Faqihah Adani taking 1 wicket each.
Despite making a small target to chase, West Indies’ bowlers ensured victory in the game by taking out the entire Malaysian team at just 59 runs in 18 overs.
