The West Indies Test team won the second test match against the host team Pakistan for the first time since 1990 with 120 runs, drawing the two-match series with a score of 1-1 on January 27, 2025 in Multan.
The first test match started on January 17 to January 19, and the second test match started on January 25 and ran through till January 27, 2025.
West Indies vs Pakistan Test 2 match highlights
West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 163 runs in first innings and 244 runs in their second innings.
The West Indies team was supported in the first innings by Gudakesh Motie who scored 55 runs (87), followed by all-rounder Jomel Warrican who made 36 runs (40).
Pakistan lost all their wickets at 154 runs in the first innings with Mohammad Rizwan scoring the most runs, 49, in the first innings.
During the second innings, West Indies increased the lead and set a target of 255 runs for Pakistan. Pakistan lost all its important batters including Babar Azam at 31 runs (67) and managed to score only 133 runs.
Player of the Match and Series
West Indies left-arm spinner, Jomel Warrican took home the Player of the Match and Series awards, after claiming 19 wickets in the two-match Test Series. Warrican credited his success to consistently hitting the same length while varying his paces.
He took 10 wickets in the first test match and scored 31 runs, while taking 9 wickets in the second test match, scoring 54 runs.
