The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, has been working diligently to promote the diplomatic relations of St Kitts and Nevis with other nations across the globe. The High Commissioner of St Kitts and Nevis to the United Kingdom, Kevin Isaac, has also lent a helping hand to the nation in their quest for deeper diplomatic relations. The country recently took the first steps to formalize the diplomatic relations between St. Kitts and Nevis and the Republic of Ireland.

The federation has remained steadfast in ensuring deeper relations with Ireland as they are a member of the European Union, and the legalization of these diplomatic relations aligns with St Kitts and Nevis’s strategy of deepening its international partnerships. Prime Minister Dr Drew sincerely thanks the High Commissioner of St Kitts and Nevis to the United Kingdom, Kevin Isaac, for his assistance.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas, also joined PM Drew to share his best wishes and congratulations to the High Commissioner for his work. In the meantime, Dr Douglas also welcomed the new Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Strategy 2025 of Ireland at the formalization of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The strategy of Ireland helps small nations such that it creates tangible opportunities in higher education, renewable energy, climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience. The country’s Prime Minister believes that in a world that is changing fast, technological advancement and transformation make it apparent that its diplomacy should be focused, agile, creative, and responsive.

Accordingly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of St Kitts and Nevis has extended his sincere congratulations to High Commissioner Isaac for his appointment as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of St. Kitts and Nevis to the Kingdom of Thailand.

The smallest country in the Caribbean region by land area has been working diligently to promote better relations with all the nations in the world. The broadening of diplomatic relations with Ireland and Thailand is proof enough of the commitment of St Kitts to deepening international ties with various countries across the globe.
