The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) of St. Kitts and Nevis was recognized for its significant contribution to the growth and economy of the Federation at the 7th Annual Caribbean Investment Summit (CIS), held from April 22 to April 26, 2025 in Antigua and Barbuda.
CIU received two prestigious accolades which were the ‘Efficiency in Processing Time Award’ and the ‘Heritage Excellence Award’. These awards highlight the CIU’s dedication to operational excellence and the lasting value of the nation’s Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programme.
During the CIS 2025 conference, Executive Chairman Calvin St. Juste reported that the awards were the outcome of a “shared vision and relentless execution”, which also brought to light the achievements of his team. He also introduced the new ‘Saturn’ platform which has played a role in transforming the application tracking process into a real time update system.
Timely upgradation of CBI Reforms drive stability and growth
The CIU’s results are a part of a larger effort by the government of St Kitts and Nevis to prove the integrity and sustainability of its CBI programme. To protect the CBI programme from misuse, the government put forth legislation which also serves to prevent the underselling of citizenship and in that — which also preserve the programme’s value and reputation.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has also acknowledged the strengthened sustainability of St. Kitts and Nevis’ CBI programme, noting that the programme has brought about greater stability and reliability in the revenue generated by the programme.
The CIU also implemented several reforms aimed at streamlining processes and improving applicant experience. The CIU established a 24-hour response team and a dedicated unit to address application backlogs, ensuring timely processing and communication with applicants.
CIU’s recent success at the CIS 2025 and the extensive reforms put forth by the government demonstrates St. Kitts and Nevis’ dedication to running a robust, transparent and efficient Citizenship by Investment programme.
